So after much anticipation, I finally got me the Luminox A.3152 brushed, stainless steel series. I was a little sceptical at first but its been over a week now and I am simply enjoying it.
It has a fairly decent case size of 44mm which is not too big and yet, not too small - at least for me. Case thickness of 13mm which gives it a rugged and much sporty look along with that black on silver bezel.
Its has got a screw down crown, for that tight water resistant. The stainless-steel band is of 23mm wide that has a fold-over clasp for safety.
The glass is of hardened mineral crystal though, I would have terribly preferred a sapphire crystal but I guess, I can have that changed when this one gets cracked!
A sense of relief sets in the moment I know that watches are made in Switzerland or Japan. This particular breed comes with a Swiss movement and of course, is made there as well. Anyway, Swiss or not Luminox has a reputation of being a Hollywood watch. Worn by none other then George Clooney in Oceans Eleven, Taylor Kitsch in Battleship and Kirk Acevedo of Fringe to name a few.
The true wonder of this watch is in its luminous properties. Using tritium based vials it gives a wonderful constant glow when in low-light conditions. It is especially useful as a bed side watch, in movie theatres and maybe perhaps, for your occasional night safari.
The glow of the tritium vials get noticeably brighter as your eyes begin to adjust to the darkness. My previous tritium based watch was a Traser P6405 which had green vials. When comparing green to the blue coloured vials that the Luminox has it just seems more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Now that's just my personal opinion. Anyway, green luminous is a very common colour used in watches of all kinds but blue is something different and it is that difference, that makes it all the more unique.
